Welcome to The Griffin Hotel Attleborough B&B a historic coaching Inn located in the heart of East Anglia.  Hospitality has been dispensed at The Griffin for the last 450 years. For those of you interested in the history – The Griffin Hotel Attleborough doors opened for the first time in about 1560 during the early reign of Queen Elizabeth I, in the part of the building fronting Church Street. It was extended in the 17th and 18th centuries with a frontage onto the churchyard.  The Griffin was designed as a coaching inn, one feature being wooden cobbles in the archway to muffle the horses hooves, so as not to disturb the guests sleeping upstairs! Although guests no longer normally arrive by coach and horses, the Griffin continues to provide for all the needs of a weary traveller –a warm welcome, reviving drinks in the bar, a hearty meal in the restaurant and a comfortable bed for the night.

The Griffin Hotel Attleborough Restaurant and Bar offers excellent food and drink and has an extensive home cooked menu every day featuring – light snacks, bar classics and an enticing range of main course specials including our renowned steaks. Richard always maintains a good selection of real ales and lagers and the Griffin Hotel also features an interesting range of affordable quality wines in its cellar, all designed to complement The Griffin Hotel Attleborough food menu.  All The Griffin Hotel meals are freshly prepared and may be taken either in our restaurant or in the bar areas and are available from 11.30 am – 2.30 pm all week and 7.00 -9.00 pm Monday – Saturday.  So whether it’s a short working lunch in the bar, and relaxing evening meal for two in the restaurant or a weekend family get together, why not discover our Elizabethan Coaching Inn.

Trailer Storage. 

The Griffin Hotel Attleborough Trailer Storeage.  Travelling over to Snetterton for either a track day or a race weekend? Well, the good news is that the government has finally decided to dual the remaining single carriage section of the A11. The bad news is that it won’t be finished this season and the civil engineers are going to be busy all year.  Why not take the easy route and travel over the day before and enjoy an evening’s hospitality at the Griffin Hotel?  And to make things as easy as possible for our guests, we’ve teamed up with our local partner, Breckland Storage, to offer secure overnight storage for your race trailer.  Breckland Storage is a CaSSOA Gold standard site. The perimeter is completely enclosed with full height fencing and around the clock CCTV cameras. The owners live on site and access to the overnight parking is only available by an electronic key fob, which will be issued to you on check in at the Griffin Hotel.  High Tea Afternoon Tea at The Griffin

High Tea at The Griffin Hotel Attleborough.

Take a look at the wonderful afternoon tea Richard and the team laid on recently for the Pavilion Pre School team of ladies. It reminds me of high tea at my Aunt Edna’s when I was a youngster; perfectly formed sandwiches, home baked cakes and tea from a teapot!
