Great Yarmouth Racecourse Great Yarmouth
Great Yarmouth Racecourse at Great Yarmouth Norfolk is home to a summer season of 23 flat race meetings attracting top name jockeys, and up-and-coming two-year-old horses, some of which go on to compete and win valuable races as far afield as the USA and Brazil. Great Yarmouth is proud of its racing heritage, with the first events recorded more than 300 years ago in 1715. The original Great Yarmouth Racecourse was close to the Nelson’s Monument at South Denes. Its popularity was boosted by the coming of the railways, and it was moved to its current North Denes site in 1920 to make way for the then buoyant fishing industry. Continual improvements have included the new Lord Nelson Grandstand with bars, a restaurant and hospitality boxes. The most valuable race held at Great Yarmouth Racecourse is the John Musker Fillies’ Stakes which is run over a mile and a quarter during the flagship Eastern Festival meeting in September. We are a great Norfolk attraction.
Great Yarmouth Racecourse are proud to offer a host of hospitality offers and can cater to specific needs – so give us a call soon to arrange your event. Business meetings, Christmas parties, conferences, weddings, birthday parties, christenings all can be catered for.
