The Wayland Dragonfly Gallery Watton Norfolk
The Wayland Dragonfly Gallery and Visitor Centre in Watton is one of many local attractions that make Wayland unique and distinctive. The Gallery is owned and managed by the community charity – the Wayland Partnership. The Dragonfly Gallery is a part of Wayland House and based in Watton High Street. The Dragonfly Gallery is the home of the Visitor Centre however its main function is as an art gallery – The Dragonfly Gallery is the only community owned gallery in the area and supports artists and crafts people from across the whole of East Anglia, where a wide range of exhibitions are mounted throughout the year. All artists appreciate the gallery for its intimate, welcoming and friendly atmosphere and its exceptional lighting.
All types of showings are exhibited at the Dragonfly Gallery including mixed media collections, solo shows, photography, art textiles, quilts and ceramics have all been included and there is an exhibition in most months of the year.
Wayland Gallery Workshops
The Wayland Dragonfly Gallery announces that due to the current Covid-19 epidemic, the Dragonfly Gallery has been temporarily closed and all upcoming workshops postponed. We are, however, currently looking for submissions for our upcoming online exhibition and in addition to this, looking for local artists and creatives who would like to host live demonstrations of their work. We are also happy to consider hosting recorded videos of artists and craft-makers at work. Crafty Swap ShopThe Swap Shop is closed for the time being due to Covid 19 but call us to check when it opens again.
The Dragonfly Gallery Swap Shop. Maybe you no longer need those knitting needles but would like to take up painting? Then why not come along and swap your items for something different! We can help if you want to finish that Cross Stitch Kit or give you advice on craft projects. We have a fantastic selection of donations to choose from..but we need more. We have a large welcoming space is available, run by our lovely Swap Shop volunteers, where you can rummage among the many crafty bits & pieces to see if you would like to take anything away and all we ask is that you bring something to replace it with however large or small.
The swap shop aim is to bring people together to exchange ideas and talk painting, knitting, drawing, mosaics, to give advice on stitch patterns, chat about the current exhibition at the gallery or just a nice, friendly environment where you can meet like-minded, creative people and enjoy a cup of tea and a biscuit. Join us Wednesday mornings, between 10am and 1pm. We look forward to seeing you there!
