Wonderful Guest House B&B in South Norfolk
We offer bed and breakfast accommodation and is located in the village of Great Moulton (previously known as Moulton St. Michael). This former village school opened in 1874 and was designed by the Wisbech architects ‘of William Adams and Son. The original school building only consisted of two classrooms, the smaller one for the ‘infants’ and the other larger room for the ‘standards’. Both of these classrooms were double height, and were embodied by the traditional windows and solid wood floor. The school’s footprint changed significantly since its construction, with the notable addition of a girl’s entrance, toilets, and a ‘wash-up’ room for serving school dinners (now the Guest House Reception).
Following a second phase of refurbishment in 2011, Great Moulton’s bed and breakfast officially became the ‘South Norfolk Guest House’. The programme of improvement is an ongoing project, and both Ian and Lisa welcome comments on anything that will further enhance the positive experience of their guests.
We recommend, where possible. that a local friend or relative visits our accommodations to inspect our premises. Those who are able to walk should be able to cope with relative ease. We have four downstairs rooms available, one of which has a walk in ‘greek’ shower. The South Norfolk guest rooms downstairs are not large so please view the photos for a better perspective. The drive at the front of the building is predominantly shingle, although wheel chairs can be pushed over the surface with relative ease. There is a hard concrete loading bay which can be reserved upon request at the side of the building, which is a short distance from the front door. There is a large, internal ramp found at the entrance to the property, as the house’s former use was as a Care Home for the elderly. Please contact us if you have any queries, thank you.
Whether you are local or just visiting Great Moulton, Norwich or Norfolk then you will receive a warm and friendly welcome from all of us. We hope to see you soon.
