The Golden Dog is located in Shipdham which is a village and civil parish in the Breckland district, in Norfolk, England, approximately 5 miles south-south-west of Dereham. In the 2001 census the parish had a population of 2,145 in 899 households, falling at the 2011 Census to a population of 2,057 in 891 households. It covers an area of 18.69 km².
Paula and Dave of The Golden Dog Pub & GD Restaurant Shipdham have created a very successful business and are dedicated to the quality of the service we provide to everyone who visits the pub & restaurant. Paula has a very successful reputation as a hostess and chef. She has previously won pub of the year award for her food. We and the team at The Golden Dog Shipdham extend a warm welcome to you at our child and dog friendly pub in the lovely peaceful village of Shipdham in the heart of Norfolk. The Golden Dog has two large bars, selling a selection of beers, real ales, wines & spirits along with fresh coffee, a selection of teas, milk shakes & hot chocolate. The Golden Dog has a large restaurant and a large beer garden with children’s play area. We have an extensive menu incorporating a selection of Aberdeen Angus steaks & fresh fish from a local supplier. The Golden Dog also have Special Offers on Steak nights, along with Curry, Mexican, Italian and a variety of meal deals.

We also have a Children’s Menu, along with free sweet bowls and colouring books and toys to keep ’em amused! If you have a need for a function or special event at The Golden Dog Shipdham, we can cater for your weddings, christenings, birthday and Christmas parties, wakes, valentines, engagements, anniversary’s, mothers day, fathers day, etc any day of the week. We do not charge for use of the facilities when having your function, event,party ot other special occasion here. The Golden Dog can also supply a DJ for your event.: please contact us to discuss your requirements. Well behaved dogs are welcome in both Golden Dog bars, as long as they keep their owners under control! We don’t allow dogs in the restaurant, but if you wish to have a meal while you’re here with your dog, we will happily serve you in one of the bars.
