These attractive brick and flint barn conversions, in what was the farm’s dairy, feed mill and stables, are set in the tranquil, mid Norfolk village of Horningtoft, on the owner’s arable farm. They provide very spacious and comfortable accommodation in a peaceful rural setting, overlooking open fields and down a country lane.
The cottages have parking for two cars each. They have oil fired central heating and a tumble dryer for everyone’s use is situated in the games room, which also houses a pool table, football table and darts board. Cots are available on request.
The laundry room has coin operated washing and drying machines and, if you prefer the old fashioned way, there is also a linen line available.
There are six cottages:
Dairy End, sleeps six. Large kitchen, lounge/diner with sofa bed, double room and twin room. Bathroom, with shower over.
Mill Barn, also sleeps six has similar layout, but with bunk beds in the twin room.
Stable End has kitchen, lounge/diner with sofa bed, double bed and bathroom with over-bath shower.
Burnt Yards Barn sleeps up to eight. It has kitchen, lounge/diner, bedroom one has a double bed, bedroom two has twin beds and bedroom three has bunk beds and the wet room has a shower.
Pond Farm Barn sleeps up to eight and is similar to Burn Yards Barn, but it has two double rooms and one twin room. It also has a wet room with shower.
Stockman Barn sleeps up to six and is similar to the last two, with wet room and shower, but has a double room and a twin room.
Spare beds are available for the last three cottages and all wet rooms have hand-rails & adjustable shower seats, making them suitable for wheelchair users.
Situated in the heart of Norfolk, The Old Stables is the perfect setting from which to explore the surrounding countryside. The farm operates a stewardship scheme which provides margins around its fields for nature walks and the country lanes around the area are perfect for walking or cycling
The market towns of Fakenham, Holt, Dereham and King’s Lynn are within easy driving distance and the beautiful city of Norwich, with its two beautiful Cathedrals, Castle, museums, historic streets, great shopping and lively market. Everything for a great day out.
The delightful coastal towns of Hunstanton, Wells, Sheringham and Cromer are close by and the Norfolk Broads are within easy reach. There are many local attractions including Gressenhall Rural Life museum, the splendid Thursford Steam Collection, the North Elmham Saxon Cathedral ruins, the Queen’s estate at Sandringham, National Trust Houses, bird sanctuaries, interesting historical buildings and churches as well as many good pubs and restaurants.
