The Oaks Glamping Norfolk campsite and Venue Hire is located on the outskirts of Colkirk near Fakenham which is a beautiful Breckland village situated about two miles south of Fakenham in the county of Norfolk, England. Colkirk village dates from at least the time of the Domesday Book. The village including Oxwick, Pattesley and South Raynham currently has 588 inhabitants living in 266 dwellings. The village has a church, (St. Mary’s), in the north west corner of the village, a Village Hall, a church pond (known as the Church Pit in Norfolk dialect), a Camping Land (land once used for the game Camping, “camp” meaning battle in Old English).
The Oaks Glamping Norfolk accommodation is a special experience. The Oaks Glamping Norfolk micro glamping site includes four hand-built structures situated on the periphery of a wild flower meadow with silver birch trees. The Oak Glamping Norfolk huts and pods were crafted on site, all of our glamping accommodation has been fully insulated to keep you cooler in summer and cosy during the winter time.
Towards the centre of the meadow you will find a horseshoe-shaped long barrow with a central fire pit and log seating. This is a wonderful place to lie against the bank and watch the clouds floating by. At night, we also use this space for stargazing as there is very little light pollution here in Norfolk.

Colkirk History
The name Colkirk is an Anglo-Saxon or Danish word, meaning “the church of Cola”, from “kirk” meaning church and “Cola” being the name of the builder and/or first owner of a church perhaps over a thousand years ago. The present church may possibly be on the same site as the original building and is of medieval origin.
