West Heath Barn bed and breakfast and self-catering accommodations is located just outside the beautiful North Norfolk village of Great Massingham and surrounded by serene countryside, offering many great dog walking in our own paddock or on the network of pathways around us. West Heath Barn guests walking to Peddars Way National Trail will pass by our own alpacas on the way to the award winning Dabbling Duck Pub & Restaurant in the local village.
Whatever your reason to visit beautiful Norfolk is from walking, cycling, visiting the coast and the many local Norfolk attractions or simply recharge your batteries in a beautiful, serene setting, West Heath Barn is the ideal base for all your needs. There is so much to see from the inspiring and magnificent historic houses and country estates of Sandringham, Holkham, Houghton and Oxburgh Hall which are all close by. Then of course there is the stunning Norfolk coast which is less than 30 minutes’ drive away and has over 60 miles of sandy beaches, picturesque salt marshes and big skies. For the keen bird watchers there is Snettisham and Titchwell bird reserves. The towns of. Burnham Market and Holt offer great retail therapy while Swaffham and Fakenham are more authentic traditional market towns. The historic and fabulous cathedral cities of Norwich and Cambridge are less than an hour’s drive away.

Call before booking as we are currently not taking bookings direct due to Covid 19. Our B&B rooms are situated in the old granary which has been renovated and decorated in contemporary country style. Many of the original features such as the vaulted timbers are still visible and provide a stunning backdrop as breakfast is served.
West Heath Barn B&B assure a restful night’s sleep in our king-size and twin rooms. Each is comfortably equipped with a limestone floor with cosy under-floor heating provided by eco-friendly heat harvested from under our alpaca paddock. Each room has wrought iron beds, beautifully handcrafted in Norfolk, and their own private entrance overlooking the enclosed, south facing courtyard. They are equipped with a flat-screen television, an en suite bath or spacious walk-in shower with complimentary toiletries, tea and coffee-making facilities, hairdryers and WiFi. Both rooms are on the ground floor so particularly suited for those who find steps and stairs a little challenging.
West Heath Barn B&B Breakfast and afternoon tea are served in the sunny double aspect atrium with its honey-coloured Jerusalem limestone floor, which also offers a warm and bright space for guests to read, relax and plan their stay. When the weather permits, guests may choose to sit in the lavender lined courtyard which provides a tranquil spot to unwind and soak up the sun. Those who are feeling more energetic can pause to commune with the alpacas grazing in the paddock before exploring the network of scenic pathways and trails that surround us.
A traditonal Aga cooked breakfast using the finest local ingredients is served with a selection of fresh fruits and cereals. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options are available. We unfortunately do not allow pets in our B&B rooms, although they are very welcome in our self-catering cottages.

West Heath Barn has two self-catering holiday cottages, The Dairy Holiday Cottage and The Cart Holiday Cottage, offering loads of character, with vaulted ceilings, terracotta tiled floors and under-floor heating throughout. West Heath Barn cottages are superbly equipped with everything you need to make your home-from-home stay comfortable, relaxing and stress free.
The cottages are designed to be very dog friendly, both cottages make no concessions on comfort and style. They are particularly popular with our canine guests as the fully enclosed dog exercise paddock is just a stone’s throw away and is the gateway to the rural network of paths that surround us. Bookings are available on a weekly basis with a Saturday changeover in peak season, and for short breaks of 2 or more nights throughout the rest of the year.
