The Great Yarmouth Hippodrome has been dubbed one of the seven wonders of the British seaside. The Historic Great Yarmouth Hippodrome is Britain’s only surviving total circus building, built in 1903 by the legendary circus showman George Gilbert. Throughout the century the intimate arena has played host to an incredible variety of entertainment, from amazing water spectacles and stage shows to cinema and cine variety and even wartime use as a military practice shooting range! – Apart from always presenting the very best in circus, Lloyd George [Prime Minister] held political rallies here – Lillie Langtry sang, Little Tich clowned, Max Miller joked, Houdini escaped, the world’s finest clowns and circus personalities performed – there is sooo much to see that you have to come down yourself and experience the atmosphere.

Hippodrome Christmas Spectacular
The Hippodrome Circus legendary Christmas Spectacular willreturn from December 12th. Hosted by Jack Jay and Norfolk comedy star Ben Langley. They will be joined by an amazing cast of international circus performers and or course the world famous Water Spectacular. We will of course we operating in a covid safe way and continuing to adhere to social distancing guidelines throughout the theatre. There will be a limited capacity within the auditorium to allow for safe spacing of audience members, so you can rest assured that your experience can be as safe and enjoyable as possible.
Because of the limited seats available we are asking people to please book in advance to avoid disappointment, and due to the special measures you will have to book your seats over the phone with our Box office. You will not be able to book online for this particular show. You can come along in family bubble groups, that can then be sat together. Each booking will then be seated socially distanced within the auditorium.
This special performance will be shorter (approx 70 – 75 mins) in length with no intermission to reduce the traffic in crowded areas and make sure that you can remain as safe as possible.
