Welcome to Gorsey Meadow Dereham Glamping and Gorsey Meadow Camping Campsite in Hockering near Dereham. Gorsey Meadow Campsite is the ultimate escape to peace and tranquility and plenty of fresh countryside air so look no further than glamping at Gorsey Meadow. Gorsey Meadow have brand new tents and bespoke bases for the the coming season along with one or two other improvements. Exclusive hire for groups available.
Our aim is not to squeeze as many pitches in as possible but to have a maximum of 5 luxurious bell tents, giving each tent plenty of space. Private group bookings of family or friends are very welcome. Your Gorsey Meadow accommodation will come with double mattresses and/or single quality air beds with excellent quality bedding, a double ring gas cooker with gas, crockery, cutlery, charcoal bbq, lantern, cool box and much more. Guests are to provide their own towels. Gorsey Meadow Pitch your own – If you prefer to pitch your own tent at Gorsey Meadow then our peaceful private field awaits you, all you have to do is choose your spot! Availability of PYO pitches are dependent on bell tent bookings and less likely in the school holidays and peak weekends. We also welcome Campervans.

Gorsey Meadow Dereham Glamping and Camping Prices/Tariffs
Gorsey Meadow has a shower offering plenty of hot water and privacy but also in keeping with the environment. There is a separate loo and butler sink and a compost loo amongst the trees. Give it a try, you will be pleasantly surprised! Eco soap and shampoo only please for the shower. The meadow is off grid, there are no power points. There are two fire pits to relax around with lovely oak seating along with additional picnic benches. ‘The Shop’ contains essentials to purchase such as Charcoal, fire lighters, matches, water and marshmallows for toasting. There are also a number of candles for outside use only to borrow during your stay. We appreciate a donation for replacement candles should you use them. ‘The Shed’ contains local tourism leaflets, books for adults and children to borrow and a few things to help keep children occupied during your stay. Please ensure all are returned before you leave for the next guests to enjoy. Parking – Gorsey Meadow is a tranquil, car free zone, so after emptying your car, please park on the designated Gorsey Meadow pad on the Hockering House drive.

Gorsey Meadow Campsite Dereham is at the very heart of Norfolk. Having kept it to ourselves for so long we now hope others will enjoy it as much as we do. Gorsey Meadow is a wonderfully secluded meadow that allows adults to escape the hustle and bustle and children to enjoy space and nature in a safe environment. Book Gorsey Meadow individually or hire the meadow exclusively as part of a group of family and friends and have your own slice of Norfolk to build memories that will last a lifetime. You will share the Gorsey meadow with an abundance of nature from inquisitive rabbits and strutting pheasants, songbirds in the hedgerows and tawny owls in the oak trees. Gorsey Meadow campsite even have our own bug hotel! You are very welcome to picnic in the beautiful woodland glade and explore the surrounding area but please ensure children are accompanied at all times as there are natural dangers in the woodland such as ponds and inedible mushrooms.
Gorsey Meadow Dereham is ideally situated for both adults and children. Children can run around and exhaust themselves in the meadow, explore the woods & build dens (accompanied by an adult), enjoy the tree swings and play ball games. The award winning Dinosaur Park is just five minutes away and Pensthorpe Nature Reserve is fantastic for adults and children especially now that their indoor play area is open for rainier days. There is a Sky rope course, ten pin bowling, crazy golf, Gressenhall Museum, local playgrounds and much more all locally. Please ask for any advice on places to visit. Adults may wish to try one of the local golf courses, fishing lakes next door, cycle routes, National Trust properties or hire the estate tennis court on the estate. Just 20 minutes away is the historic City of Norwich, which is great for shopping and culture with the Cathedral and the Lanes, two places not to be missed. There is also a large retail park 10 mins drive away from the meadow with Sainsburys, Boots, M&S food, Next, Pet Store, McDonalds and much more. There are a number of good local pubs offering dishes prepared with local produce. Hockering village shop, post office and garage sell everything from fresh bread, papers & magazines, general groceries and of course fuel. Gorsey Meadow Campsite are only short drive from the outstanding north Norfolk coast. From the sweeping sands of Holkham, shopping in Burnham Market and Holt, the harbours of Wells and Blakeney to seal boat trips at Morston, world-class birdwatching at Cley and the Victorian resort of Cromer, there really is something for everyone!
