Tabnabs Mattishall Covid 19 update and current opening hours will be reduced to give us a chance to assess demand, and adjust staffing accordingly. Temporary hours will be as follow: Monday – Friday 11.00am – 3.00pm – Saturday 9.00am – 4.30pm – Sunday 10.00am – 4.30pm. We will still offer our delivery service on the weekend, for those who prefer this, and will be happy to be to able offer our full takeaway menu for collection between the hours of 11-2pm, Monday – Sunday..
Along with government recommendations we have been looking at all the ways we can keep staff and customers as safe as possible and there will be some changes to reflect this. We will appreciate your support to adhere to new procedures to protect us all. It will also be necessary to book a table if you would like to visit.
Tabnabs Mattishall is in the Norfolk Breckland village of Mattishall and is a short drive from Dereham and is a newly opened tea room. The building is over 200 years old and was once a chapel & then a school room. The building was restored in 2003 & was rented out as shop & office space. When it became empty in 2011 it became Tabnabs café. Tabnabs is a Merchant Navy term for a small cake or biscuit eaten at coffee break aboard ship. We hope you find some tea and tabnabs to suit you. Upstairs at Tabnabs Mattishall is The Crow’s Nest and it is a quieter and more relaxed room with sofas and tables. You can hire it for private functions/parties during the day, or evenings.

All our wonderful food is cooked on the premises, to order. Cheese and fruit Scones and cakes are baked daily. Occasionally at Tabnabs Mattishall , we can get very busy and this may mean you have to wait a little longer for your food. If you are in a hurry, please let us know, so we can give you an idea of any waiting times. Breakfast is served until 11.00 am (Noon on Sundays) and delicious light lunches freshly cooked, served until 3.00 pm. Open until 4.00 pm. If you have any allergies or special dietary requirements, please discuss with one of the team, and we will be happy to advise you.
