It has been the proud home of the Carrick family for almost 100 years. Carrick’s At Castle Farm’s history is who we are. While it is true that for all of us, here at Carrick’s, our past surrounds us. The bricks of our Victorian farmhouse, the boundaries of the fields and the curve of the River Wensum define what we, at Carrick’s are all about and what we have to offer.

John Carrick’s grandmother and then his father farmed at Castle Farm just as it is continued today. There are six bed and breakfast rooms which are THE BULLARD ROOM – THE CARRICK ROOM – THE CARRICK FOX ROOM – THE DRESSING ROOM – BUTLER’S ROOM – MAID’S ROOM. Each room offers sumptuous luxury in beautiful Norfolk. Our two self catering holiday cottages are THE HUNTSMAN COTTAGE AND THE BUTTERY COTTAGE.

OUR SITTING ROOM – This charming room at Carrick’s is available to all our guests with its own TV and plentiful, comfortable seating making it perfect for a small conference or just a chat with friends. Inside there is a fully functioning open fire which we tend to have going from the first of the autumn chills till around bluebell time in the spring. John loves this room especially as it was the playroom for him and his siblings seventy years ago.
OUR DINING ROOM – If you want ‘Carrick’s’ grandeur, this is it. The stunning central table can seat up to twelve people under its fabulous chandelier that looks so magical once dusk has fallen over the lawns, the river and the flood plain. This beautiful well used room features French windows leading to the terrace and the river beyond. You can dine in the summer to the sound of the swifts and the occasional plop of a large, rising chub in the river. This is where you enjoy the legendary Carrick’s at Castle Farm breakfast which is prepared by Jean and Lesley in the farmhouse kitchen just down the hallway. A fabulous meal and you know that your comfortable bed waits for you just above.
OUR KITCHEN – We put out our list of cooked breakfast options for you to fill in during the evening and leave by the kitchen door. This is a family run kitchen and all our food is freshly prepared, so this helps us make sure you are not kept waiting. For those of you preferring a continental-style breakfast, you will find the table groaning with fruit, yogurt, cereals, beverages and toast, the bread, of course, being from our local bakery.
