Thetford Garden Centre and Cafe are a popular independent garden centre, established in 1982 and based at our present site in Kilverstone since 1992. Thetford Garden Centre was founded in the town centre in 1982 by Jean & Paul Nixon. With no previous experience in retail or horticulture they managed to build up a thriving business. Thetford Garden Centre was originally operating out of old vehicle servicing units, a large greenhouse was quickly added and the business began to establish itself in the town. Thetford Garden Centre business soon out grew the make-shift premises and ten years later a move to a purpose built store on the edge of Thetford was completed. Since then Thetford Garden Centre hasn’t stopped advancing with additions and improvements frequently being made. Now headed by Jean Nixon, and with twelve family members being involved in the centre at one time or another – from work experience through to lifelong careers –
Thetford Garden Centre remains a family business. We at Thetford Garden Centre are hugely proud of this and how our loyal customers have allowed us to flourish when so many independent retailers have been harmed by the chains. Now in our third decade Thetford Garden Centre still hold the same values – to provide our customers with a vast range of high quality plants and goods, valuable advice and an enjoyable garden centre experience.

With great oversized sofas to age old artefacts the design has been a labour of love with the intention of transporting you to faraway places.
